Description
As lovers of great late 60’s design and especially homeware of that period, when we saw that Magpie were producing these , we had to have them for our customers and hope you will love them, as much as we do.
Hornsea Design Director, John Clappison, originally drew this fantastic cat for a range of ceramics, produced in the 1960’s. Magpie have redrawn this super cute cat from the original illustrations archived in the Hornsea Museum using authentic Hornsea colours of the period.
This 100% cotton tea towel comes folded and tied with black ribbon Hornsea Potteries was founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson. This quintessentially British brand made ground breaking designs all through the following decades until its final closure in 2000. The Hornsea legacy remains an important inspiration to many illustrators and artists today. With full access to the archives at the Hornsea Museum, this is the first range of products re-designed and released under official licence by Magpie.
