Description

As lovers of great late 60’s design and especially homeware of that period, when we saw that Magpie were producing these , we had to have them for our customers and hope you will love them, as much as we do.

Hornsea Owl shaped Cruet Set. Hornsea Design Director, John Clappison, originally drew these fantastic Owls for a range of ceramic cruet sets, produced in 1967. Magpie have redrawn these super cute animals from the original illustrations archived in the Hornsea Museum and created new ceramic moulds for cruets sets and money boxes, glazing them using authentic Hornsea colours of the period. These cute salt and pepper sets are made from Stoneware and hand glazed so each one is unique. HAND WASH ONLY.
Hornsea Potteries was founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson. This quintessentially British brand made ground breaking designs all through the following decades until its final closure in 2000. The Hornsea legacy remains an important inspiration to many illustrators and artists today. With full access to the archives at the Hornsea Museum, this is the first range of products re-designed and released under official licence by Magpie.
